KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 8, 2026 – Minister for Health and Population Dr. Sudha Sharma conducted a special monitoring and inspection of major health institutions in Sudurpaschim Province, including Shaheed Dasharath Chand University of Health Sciences, Geta Medical College, and Seti Provincial Hospital in Kailali.
During the visit, Minister Sharma reviewed the physical infrastructure, availability of human resources, and the overall status of health service delivery at these institutions. Administrators from the university and hospital briefed her on current operations, patient load, and the administrative and technical challenges affecting service delivery.
Following the inspection, Minister Sharma reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to support infrastructure development and complete the necessary legal processes to improve healthcare quality, particularly to bring Geta Medical College into full operation. She assured that the Ministry would provide full support through budgetary allocations and policy-level coordination to make health services in Sudurpaschim more reliable, accessible, and people-oriented.
The Minister also instructed the management of Seti Provincial Hospital to accelerate its upgradation process to ensure effective, quality, and accessible healthcare services for the general public.
